SERVICE & PHILANTHROPY
So far in 2017, we have participated in a variety of philanthropic activities. In February, we had a team of brothers participate in SpartanTHON and raised over $250. Later on in February, in celebration of our Chartering Ceremony, with the help of our generous alumni, led by John David Roberts '70, we raised over $5,100 to be donated to the Cleveland Cancer Center. We then participated in Relay For Life in April, raising over $1000 and lastly had our own Spike Ball Tournament where all proceeds went to Kids Kicking Cancer in order to continue our Service Project with them. In addition to these efforts, we ended the Spring semester with over 500 service hours by our brothers.

We would like to recognize our brothers who led the fraternity in service hours: Brendan Lynch, Hunter Tulloch, Zach Hennessey, and Rohith Koneru.

MAKING BLANKETS WITH PROJECT LINUS
On our Chartering Day, we began the day with  a service project led by Philanthropy and Service Chairmen, Tommy Peplow. Over 30 brothers spent 3 hours of the morning at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital making blankets in conjunction with Project Linus for pediatric oncology patients. Over 120 blankets were produced throughout the day!

SMOOTHIES WITH KIDS KICKING CANCER
On a biweekly basis, a group of 4-5 brothers have been to the hospital to make Arts & Crafts as well as Smoothies and Milkshakes for the Pediatric Oncology and Hematology patients. Kids Kicking Cancer is an organization devoted to ease the pain of patients as well as empowering them to heal physically and mentally through healthy living habits.

SPIKE BALL PHILANTHROPY EVENT
We hosted a Spike Ball Tournament this past April that, while only raising a few hundred dollars, paid for the next dozen Arts, Crafts, Smoothie, & Milkshake days with the kids. We hope to do a much better job advertising our event and hopefully get some of the kids to come out and play with us next spring. We are optimistic about the events future.
